Careers Fair

The Old Post Centre hosted a careers fair yesterday that attracted hundreds of job-seekers to the event where around 50 posts were on offer.

Jobs and apprenticeships were up for grabs from a number of companies including Nestle, Sainsbury's, East Midlands Airport, TNT and many more.

The event was part of the Burton and Swadlincote Employment Challenge 2012, which aims to boost the local economy by £500,000. With youth unemployment levels at their highest levels in East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire for nearly two years, such events are seen as playing a vital role in reducing unemployment.
